Sakura-Matsuri in DC

Sat Apr 4, 2009, 5:25 PM
Hello, all~! Life has been pretty eventful lately.

First, Spring Break: for we of FCPS (my public school district), it began on Friday with a teacher work day. I had plans for horseback riding, but they were cancelled due to (pretty) heavy thunderstorms. Instead, I got a haircut. Not that it really matters.

More importantly, sakura-matsuri was today! I went with =umi-kun, classmate/friend Lu-tan (as ~haseoluver92 and I call him) and my sister ~mishimishi. We mostly walked around and looked at stuff without really buying anything except for some t-shirts. Mostly we (or rather =umi-kun) took pictures of everything. We'll be getting extra credit in Japanese I for going, which is a plus for me (even though I'd have gone either way). We split up and waited in different lines to buy taiyaki. When my sister got to the front after ~20 mins, they were out. I bought Oyanmaki instead, and began to eat that. We then went to visit =umi-kun and Luke in their line. 10 min later, the person in front of us bought the last ones. No one else seemed to buy anything else, so I bought 2 pork dumplings and ate them as well. In the end, I was the only one who ate anything substantial and I'm the smallest and lightest of the group.

Ah, but the best part came on the way home. Firstly, we panicked and got off at the wrong metro station. Why? Because there are 2 stations for GMU, and I misread one as my station. Luke got stuck in the door trying to get out XD
The next metro came quickly, so not much more after that. We chatted about future options and such. Then I came home with my carsick (from the metro) sister and watched 2 episodes of Numb3rs season 1. おわり ^^
